Anthropogenic Biomes of the World
Irrigated Villages

The vast majority of
Irrigated Villages is used for cultivation of
crops (median = 69%).
Net primary production is low hence we find that at least some land is used for
pasture in most areas designated as irrigated villages.
As with other village anthromes most irrigated villages are found in
Asia, more than 61%.
Among irrigated villages half of the areas experience average annual
temperatures between 22.5°C
and 29.1°C,
but more than half receive less than 1000mm of precipitation per
year, which necessitates irrigation from local waterways.
