Urban Anthromes

Within the broad anthrome group: Urban, we find two anthrome classes, Urban and Dense Settlements.  These two densely populated anthropogenic biomes are of great importance to human populations despite their rather limited extent.  A region is considered to be in the dense settlements group if it incorporates high population densities and intense urban land use.  These are generally associated with high nitrogen and carbon emissions, and biodiversity dominated by introduced species.
