Anthropogenic Biomes of the World
Populated Rangelands

Populated Rangeland is an anthrome that generally has fewer than 10
persons/km2
and nearly one quarter of all the pastured land on the planet. There is little other
land use and net primary production is low, in fact nearly half of
the entire populated rangelands anthrome is represented by bare
earth.
This anthrome is frequently found throughout Africa, small regions
in Asia, as well as regions in western North America. Often
represented by flat savanna, biodiversity in the populated rangeland
anthrome is dependent on the area of the world and ranges, but is
typically low. |
