GROUP: public plantings (pp)
DEFINITION:
public, commercial, & other
institutionally managed ornamental plantings: in parks, along linear
transportation features (roads, canals etc), around non-residential buildings,
institution-managed cemeteries, & other areas, may have (<10m) turfgrass
patches. To be considered a public planting, there must be no evidence of
private land ownership or management, such as vegetation management associated
with houses or enclosed by private fences, edging, hedgerows, or walls. USE
= Ornamental: this GROUP does NOT include >10m plantings
planned for harvest or extraction, though it may include areas of agriculture or
vegetation harvest, when this is NOT the plan of the institution managing the
feature.
