GROUP: livestock (ls)
DEFINITION: domestic
animal structure, pen, manure storage, or heavily grazed permanent enclosure
separate from residences. Also includes public toilet buildings that store
manure locally and roofed permanent aquaculture structures such as hatcheries.

- Object
- manure storage tank = tank or pit used to store animal or human manures.
- confinement = structure used to confine animals.
- public toilet buildings with local manure storage and management = public toilet buildings that consist of manure pits or tanks covered by a sheltering structure, that may or may not have running water. Manure is collected and removed from pits or tanks for use in agriculture.
- roofed permanent aquaculture structures = roof-covered permanent intensive aquaculture structures, usually constructed of masonry or durable plastics, such as those used for hatcheries (shrimp, fish, etc): these are structures that are covered both above and below by impermeable surfaces. Does not include temporary or permeable structures.
- Modifier 1 (structure type)
-
manure tank
- uncovered
- covered
-
confinement
- outdoor = no roof.
- roofed/open = roofed structure without closed walls (may have fence or low enclosure- but at least 20% of wall area is open to air).
- building = enclosed structure with roof and walls.
- Modifier 2 (sealed v. permeable)
- manure tank
- permeable = walls made of earth (may be compacted) or other permeable material.
- sealed = walls made of concrete, sealed masonry, ceramic, plastic, or other impermeable material.
- confinement
- permeable = walls made of earth (may be compacted) or other permeable material.
- sealed = walls made of concrete, sealed masonry, ceramic, plastic, or other impermeable material.
- Animals
- mixed or generic animal = not dominated by poultry, swine, or ruminants (animals with specified TYPES). May be an uncommon animal without a specific TYPE, or a mixture of specified animals.
- poultry
- swine
- ruminant = goats, cattle, buffalo etc.
- Vaegetation (WITHIN feature only- not overlapping from outside: only confinement + permeable floor + outdoor)
- blank = covered or sealed structure.
- mostly bare = bare soil
- non-woody = >40% annual vegetation
- woody/some trees
- tree covered = >60% tree cover
- Scale (of facility)
- confinement (ONLY roofed/open & building; NOT outdoor) and roofed permanent aquaculture structures:
- small < 10m
- large > 10m
